Jeremy Goldscheider, Producer: jeremygoldscheider@gmail.com LOS ANGELES, California – December 16, 2024 – Acclaimed actor, writer, director, and musician Josh Radnor will host The People of the Book, a new television series and podcast produced by The Jewish Life Foundation (JLF), for broadcast on Jewish Life Television (JLTV). Radnor will interview authors about their books, exploring themes of Jewish identity, spirituality, history, food, literature, memoir, and pop culture through the lens of today’s most compelling writers. The series is scheduled to premiere in late 2025.

Known to millions as the beloved lead on How I Met Your Mother and Amazon Prime’s Hunters series, Radnor is also a seasoned Broadway actor, filmmaker, and creator of the popular Substack newsletter Museletters. Just coming off his recent role in the off-Broadway play The Ally at The Public, Josh is proud of his Jewish background and eager to explore deeper ideas in Jewish culture.

“His intellectual curiosity, deep appreciation for literature, and passion for the Jewish experience makes him an ideal host for this unique series, an intimate, in-studio deep dive with Jewish authors, exploring what makes them tick,” said Rabbi Mark Blazer, Executive Director of the Jewish Life Foundation.

“I want to read a book so good that I miss it when I’m away from it,” Radnor said. As a frequent speaker on podcasts and panels, Radnor engages with audiences on subjects ranging from mindfulness and spirituality to creativity and personal growth. His talks are not mere lectures but invitations to partake in a collective exploration of ideas that challenge and inspire. A Platform for Connection and Inspiration

“This series fosters understanding, builds bridges, and connects audiences to the richness of Jewish life,” says producer Jeremy Goldscheider, who is also helming JLTV’s J Docs, an upcoming series showcasing the best in Jewish and Israeli documentary films, launching in February 2025.

“In a time of rising anti-Semitism and boycotting of Jewish authors and artists, The People of the Book offers an uplifting celebration of Jewish culture and storytelling,” says journalist and producer Amy Klein. The People of the Book is designed for diverse audiences, including Jewish and non-Jewish viewers, and aims to spark meaningful conversations while showcasing the resilience and creativity of Jewish voices.
